Summer Love!

Been awhile since we have posted anything. I am posting one week post back surgery and doing really well. I am staying home for a month, and getting some much needed time with my two ladies while I recover! We spent some time at the beach a few weeks ago, and Sofie loved it! I see these pictures and think for sure we are going to have a beach lover on our hands! Even though, the next day, we thought she had gotten too much sun, but actually she was sick, I think she still really enjoyed herself, as we did. Just a fever, and overall crankyness, but she was over it pretty fast. We also have bought a pass to the LA Zoo, and we went the weekend before my surgery. It was really nice, and I think she was more interested in everything else that was going on, than the animals. But I am sure that will change! She has been teething really bad lately, and not sleeping well. Hoping that they all come in, and it ends soon. She is really starting to grow up though, glad I have this time with her. Looking forward to getting up and around more, and enjoying the rest of the summer!

Catching Up

Been awhile since the last post. Life has been crazy lately, Dad has been working a lot and I have been working some from home but mostly just spending every waking minute keeping up with Sofie. She is now 20 months and so full of energy. She loves to dance, run, climb, play with her toys, read books, go down the slide, swing and she really really loves bubbles. She talks more and more every day, though her words still aren't complete but we can definitely make out what she wants and she knows what she wants. She's very stubborn and has reached a phase of often doing exactly the opposite of what we ask and she is very dramatic when she doesn't get what she wants. We are enjoying every minute though and having so much fun that I haven't had much down time to keep up with this blog so I've decided that at this point we will just post whenever we have time and something specific to share.

This week Dad had to work a lot, so we spent a lot of time with Mormor. Sofie is really enjoying her visits. We took a trip to the zoo this week with our friends and definitely think we will be getting a pass and going back more often. We also went to a new friend, Kenji's second birthday party where Sofie had a lot of fun.

Had a rough start to the week with Sofie and I both catching the cold Dad had last week, Sofie still has a runny nose but otherwise doing better. Dad had to work late a lot this week so Mormor Lillemor helped out, Sofie had fun spending time with her! We celebrated Dad's birthday this weekend, spent the day at the beach and went out to dinner.

19 Months Old

Another fun, busy week. Sofie is trying more and more new foods every day and talking all the time. It's still hard to make out everything she says, but it is clear she is really trying to communicate and that she can understand a great deal. She's definitely gone through a growth spurt, her clothes look like they've shrunk overnight.

Spring Fever!

Been keeping busy and getting out of the house as much as possible. Sofie seems to finally have adjusted to the time change and is napping normally again. With the daylight lasting longer we've been trying to get out to the park in the afternoons too.

It's Raining, It's Pouring

Had a long week of mostly being cooped up from the rain. Can't wait for some warmer weather. Sofie is still teething bad and skipped her nap a few times, I think mostly thanks to not having a chance to burn off energy outdoors.

Sofie Appleseed

Spent most of the week still recuperating from the stomach bug. Dad had to work a few late nights but was home a few days helping instead, which was nice because Sofie asks for him a lot more when he is not home now. She is very slowly cutting the same tooth, hasn't made much progress and it seems to be bothering her a lot. Sofie is obsessed with apples, she eats two a day! She has started singing a lot too, no words but she loves to vocalize along with songs.

Had a rainy weekend cooped up inside, but managed to stay entertained eating apples and dressing up in her too big boots.

Sickie Sofie

Had a rough week with Sofie waking up in the middle of the night on Wednesday throwing up. She spent the rest of the week fighting the stomach bug which she passed on to mom too. Spent a lot of time reading books, cuddling and watching Yo Gabba Gabba, her new favorite show and eating apples, her new favorite snack.

Sofie didn't feel like sitting in her high chair, or sitting period.

Overdid it when she seemed to be feeling better and had a little relapse. Sofie definitely not enjoying being sick.

Drama Queen

Another busy but fun week. Sofie seems to have a short fuse lately, getting frustrated quickly I think partially due to that fact that there are so many things she wants to communicate but can't. She makes some new expressions, like a scowly face and has some new moves she loves to do like shaking her head back and forth and spinning in circles until she gets dizzy. She has learned more body parts like eyes, and mouth and nose. She spent the tail end of the week cutting her bottom right canine tooth which she's still working on.

A bad day of teething led to a major meltdown after this picture was taken, she couldn't decide between holding Abby and eating her Cheerios.

We spent Sunday morning walking at the beach near Malibu. It was cool and overcast but Sofie loved checking out the water and in her true daredevil-ness getting really close to the crashing waves. Can't wait for summer so she can take a dip in the water!

Rainy Week

We had a short week with President's Day on Monday. Daddy had the day off and took Sofie to Swim and Gym. It rained most of the week, so we were a little cooped up. Sofie is still teething pretty bad, working on her bottom canines it looks like, so her sleep hasn't been fantastic. Sofie had a physical on Thursday and weighed in at 19lbs and 32 inches, tiny but tall!
