Park Fun

More bad sleep and bad teething today but I think we have finally settled on one long midday nap... well, we'll see. Dad and Sofie hung out this morning walking on Main and swinging at the beach, then we spent the afternoon in the park. So many good shots from the park but this one was by far my favorite. Sofie loves Charlie, though he is not a huge fan of all her poking and proding at the moment, and she now says "Hi da-" every time we see a dog, which means "hi dog" since she hasn't figured out how to tack on the "g" yet.

She's Got Rhythm...

Another rough night and only one 30 minute nap this morning. Sofie's teething just seems to be getting worse and worse, but still no sign of teeth. We met our friend Brooke for coffee this morning and then spent the afternoon at playgroup in the park. Sofie had a great time and was crawling all over the playground, needless to say she was exhausted by bedtime, but had enough energy to jam out with Dad for a bit.

Crabby Girl

More bad sleep and only one nap today. Sofie was pretty crabby all day from the teething and tiredness. We went to Baby Time at the library this morning then spent the afternoon visiting with Grandpa Ali and Grandma Lucy at the airport. Sofie had a big appetite at dinner again, but also enjoyed making a mess!

The Tube

Another rough night and another day of bad teething. We had fun at Music Makers this morning, then Sofie took a brief morning nap, but refused to take a second one thanks to bad teething pain so we finally just went to the park and enjoyed the beautiful weather. At the park Sofie stood up for the first time completely unassisted and without pulling on anything from a squatting position! When we got back home she passed out mid-nursing and ended up taking a brief, but very late nap at 5pm. Woke up still exhausted though so we managed to get her to bed on time after a very big dinner, she seemed to have an endless appetite tonight!

Tough Toothy Tuesday

Worst night yet, by the early morning Sofie was getting up every half hour. She was teething bad all day and I did my best to keep her entertained and distracted. We went to Baby Time at the Main Library this morning, took a long midday nap then spent the afternoon playing down at the beach. Fingers crossed for a sign of those top teeth soon, her gums are getting really puffy.

Hi!

Another rough night thanks to teething I think. Sofie was teething bad all day and it kept her from falling asleep for her second nap until pretty late so our afternoon was shot. Ran some errands this morning and spent the rest of the day hanging at home and walking with Charlie. Sofie loves to "talk" on the phone, every time one of us is on the phone she insists on being held and repeatedly says "hi!"

Swimming Fun!

Another rough night last night and more bad teething again today. Spent the morning running errands then visited Grandpa Ali and Grandma Lucy this afternoon. Sofie loved swimming in the pool again!

Playdate In The Park

Another rough night but Sofie slept late, till 8am, so she only took one nap today. She was pretty grouchy and teething bad all day, but there is no real sign of any teeth so far. We spent the afternoon in the park on a playdate with our friends the Brunos and baby Lincoln, unfortunately Sofie was in a pretty bad mood from her discomfort and was not a happy camper.

T.G.I.F.!

Another rough night with Sofie nursing every two hours, she is definitely going through some sort of spurt because she's eating just as frequently during the day. She took two naps today so I guess we'll be playing it by ear on naps for now. We had a busy day, went to the library this morning and checked out some books and DVDs and then spent the afternoon at our playgroup down at the beach. Sofie finally played in the sand for the first time without constantly trying to eat it, a big step!

Toothy Giggles

A rough night, Sofie was up every two hours again and up at 7am, but I think she has officially dropped her morning nap, she only took one today midday for two hours and that seemed to be enough. Baby Time was cancelled again today so we just played at home and walked with Charlie, then spent another beautiful afternoon in the park crawling everywhere and working on standing. She still seems to be teething pretty bad, hoping there's a sign of those top teeth soon.

Avocado-Head

A rough night, Sofie was up every two hours to nurse not sure if she's going through a spurt or what. She only took one nap today but she slept in until 8am. Her congestion finally seems better but she was teething pretty bad all day. This morning we went to Music Makers class which Sofie really loves, she's really into guitars now! The clouds finally cleared and we spent a beautiful afternoon in the park. At dinnertime Sofie had some fun with her avocados.

Cloudy Tuesday

A rough night, Sofie was up several times, not sure why, she is still congested from her cold, but she slept in all the way till 8:30am, so that seemed to help, though it made her drop her morning nap today. Ran errands this morning then spent an overcast afternoon at the playground on the beach. She is getting better and better at standing and is working on it every chance she gets. Finally got her to bed without a lot of fussing tonight, hope that means she's settling into her new bedtime.

Stand, Stand, Stand

An okay night and managed two short naps today. We spent the morning shopping for food for Sofie, today was the first day she ate three meals! Then went to the park this afternoon, where Sofie crawled, picked grass and worked on her latest word "bye-bye." She is also working hard on standing right now and refuses to even sit in the tub for bath and insists on being held upright to rock to sleep, hoping she figures it out soon, she is now pulling up and standing but still can't maintain her balance for more than a few seconds.

Dinner Out

A rough night to start but then Sofie finally fell asleep for good at 1am and slept till 6. Another busy day and still all over the place with napping, one very brief 20 minute nap this morning and then an hour one late this afternoon at 3, which of course pushed bedtime to 9:30. We spent the morning running errands and going to the Farmer's Market, afternoon in the park with Charlie and then went out for our first dinner just the three of us, Sofie did really well in the restaurant, ate a ton and managed to stay in the highchair the whole time.

Bubbles!

A so-so night Sofie kept waking up at first, finally settled for a few hours but then woke up early at 6 and stood up in her crib for the first time. We finally managed two short naps today, though the first one ended up being super early. Had a packed day running errands, visiting Mormor Lillemor and two park trips with Charlie. Sofie was beyond exhausted by bedtime at 8:30.

Sleepyhead

A decent night after we finally got Sofie to sleep around 9:30, but another rough nap day and only managed one 30 min one again, but I think we've finally figured out that we need to move her morning nap along with her new later bedtime. We spent the morning running errands and then we met our new friend Jonah and his mom for a playdate at the beach, by her new bedtime (8:30) she was quite sleepy.

Non-Napper

A great night's sleep last night after finally going to bed at 9:30, but Sofie slept better than she has in a long time and slept all the way till 7:30. She was very active today, refused her morning nap and only took a 30 minute afternoon nap and still managed to stay up until 8:30pm tonight! All this awake time has left a long day to fill with activities, Daddy was home again with us today so that helped. Baby Time was canceled this week, so we went shopping this morning to get Sofie some new toys, then spent the afternoon visiting Grandma Lucy and Grandpa Ali at the airport and then playing at the park with Charlie. Thinking Sofie is just ready for a later bedtime in general.

Energizer Sofie

Another bad night last night once Sofie finally fell asleep around 10pm. We thought she might have an ear infection so we took a trip to the pediatrician this morning but her ears were perfect, doctor thought her behavior could just be the teething. Ran some errands with Daddy who stayed home sick today, having finally caught the cold we have, then Sofie took a three hour nap! We spent the afternoon at the beach enjoying the gorgeous summer weather and hoping to wear Sofie out, but she again refused her normal bedtime tonight and didn't go down until 9:30. Not sure what's keeping her up, aside from the teething she seems like she's just chock full of energy, hoping to shorten her naps tomorrow and see if that helps.

A Bounce In Her Step

After the late night, Sofie actually slept really well, was pretty tired and still cranky today but overall seemed to be feeling somewhat better, more into playing and even managed a short stint in the bouncer and some smiles (check out those pearly whites!). She refused to go to bed again at her normal time, but we finally managed to wind her down around 10pm!

All Night Party Girl

Another rough one and then Sofie refused her nap again this morning. We spent another mellow day at home, still tired cranky and very cuddly. By bed time Sofie seemed tired but for some reason she refused to go to sleep, so after an hour of rocking and fussing we finally decided to just let her stay up till we went to bed (this is her enjoying some late night Sesame Street), by 11:00 we finally got her to wind down and go to sleep.

Sicky Smiles

Worst night yet last night, Sofie's cold just seems to be getting worse and she is teething at the same time which isn't helping. She was very tired and cranky today, refused her first nap and didn't want to do anything all day but cuddle and watch Sesame Street. We had a short visit from Mormor Lillemor this morning, though and she managed a few smiles.

New Chair!

More bad sleep, this cold looks to be sticking around for awhile. After ten long months in what turned out to be a very uncomfortable rocker we finally got our brand new one today and even Sofie loved it! Hoping it helps make the long nights a little less rough.

10 Months Old!

Another rough night and Sofie was definitely not quite herself today, worst day of the cold so far. We spent another quiet day at home trying to take it easy, but still full of smiles when Daddy got home as usual!

Look Who's Talking

An okay night, but Sofie is officially sick, I caught it myself today. Her runny nose seemed better today but she was tired and cranky most of the day so we skipped out on Baby Time since it was drizzling any way and spent the day at home. Despite being under the weather Sofie spent the day doing a lot of pulling up and a lot of talking, she added a new word to her repertoire and said "baby" today, bringing her vocabulary to a grand total of four words so far!

Music Class Fun!

Another rough night left Sofie pretty tired today. She is still congested and teething bad, wondering if she's working on the top set. We went to the younger babies Music Makers class this morning and Sofie had a blast this time, she was clapping along, being vocal and was the oldest and easily most rambunctious one in the bunch. Spent the afternoon walking to the store and walking with Charlie.

More Teeth On The Way?

A rough night, Sofie was up every two hours and was congested and had a runny nose all day, not sure if it's teething, but she doesn't seem sick. The morning was gloomy and Sofie was tired from a short nap so we stayed home and played then took a long midday nap. The sky finally cleared and we had a gorgeous afternoon in the park.

Love Long Weekends!

A pretty rough night and early wake-up. Ran some errands, had a long nap and then spent the somewhat overcast afternoon at the beach, where despite a pile of toys, Sofie was more interested in chewing on the diaper bag. She seems to beteething pretty bad, not sure if it's still just the two or if she is now working on more. Sofie also added a new word to her vocabulary this weekend, she now says "hi" non-stop!

Avocado Art

A rough one last night, but Sofie took a long nap this morning, then we ran some errands and spent the afternoon playing in the dog park/ regular park. Sofie was pretty grouchy so we decided to skip out on our plans to go to a fireworks show. As we were playing before bed I was eating an avocado when Sofie grabbed for it and started chowing down, which eventually led to this video. Happy 4th!

Pfffffft!

A rough night last night and up early this morning. Ran some errands this morning, had a short nap, then spent another beautiful afternoon in the park. Sofie's teeth seem to be bothering her even more now that they have broken the skin, she keeps sticking her tongue out against them.

Happy Long Weekend!

An okay night last night. This morning we attended a new mommy and me class called Music Makers, Sofie had fun but I think she was a little overwhelmed especially because the other kids were all older, we may try to attend the class on another day with younger ones next week. Daddy came home from work early so we started the long weekend off with a sunny, warm afternoon in the park.

Ready To Cruise!

A so-so night, then headed to Baby Time at the library this morning where we had lots of fun. Spent the afternoon at home pulling up, standing and attempting to cruise. Sofie is ready to be on the move and enjoying her new skill! You can catch anther glimpse of her ever growing tooth here, the second one is working it's way up next to it.
